Don't miss the 21st annual Dallas Mayor's Back To School Fair on Friday, August 4 from 8 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Centennial Building at Fair Park (1001 Washington St.). Presented by Walmart, the fair will offer free health, dental and vision screenings, free haircuts, numerous services, entertainment and more. Plus, eligible families can get free school supplies!

The Fair is free and open to families with school-aged children (pre-K through 12th grade) who reside in the City of Dallas or attend Dallas ISD schools (and meet eligibility requirements).

Missed out on pre-registering? No worries - walk-ups are welcome the day of the event. To qualify for school supplies, be sure to bring a photo ID, proof of income and proof of residency.

For a list of what can be used for a photo ID, proof of residency and income please click here. Children are not required to attend the event with their parents/grandparents to receive school supplies.


  • Parking at Fair Park will be free for the Mayor's Back to School Fair on Friday, August 4.
  • Participants can enter through Gate 5.
  • NEW THIS YEAR! A number of trams will be running within Fair Park near Gate 5 transporting families from Second Avenue and Pennsylvania Avenue. Family members will be dropped off at the event entrance located at the Centennial Building …. and picked up at the end of the Fair (at the school supply distribution exit doors) and returned to their parking lots and bus stops.
